DISPOSITION: PROCEDURAL SCHEDULES SUSPENDED
On January 5, 2001, Portland General Electric Company, PacifiCorp, Citizens' Utility Board, Industrial Customers of Northwest Utilities, PG&E National Energy Group, Associated Oregon Industries and the Fred Meyer Stores filed a joint petition. The petition seeks the immediate adoption of a temporary rule amending the date by which the Commission must make its decision regarding resource plans (OAR 860-038-0080(4)), the opening of a rulemaking docket to make the amended rule permanent, and the suspension of the procedural schedules in UE 118 and UE 119.
The Commission must decide whether to adopt a temporary rule and whether to open a rulemaking docket. Therefore, that portion of the petition will be discussed at the next regularly scheduled Commission meeting on January 23, 2001. The procedural schedules in UE 118 and 119 are suspended until further notice.

ALJ CROWELY issues prehearing conference memorandum:
A prehearing conference was held in this matter on December 6, 2000. The purpose of the conference was to set a schedule for the remainder of the docket and to deal with certain procedural matters.
The Commission received petitions to intervene from Renewable Northwest Project; Portland Metropolitan Association of Building and Managers (BOMA); PG&E National Energy Group, Inc., and the League of Oregon Cities. All petitions were granted. The Citizens' Utility Board also filed a notice of intervention.
PacifiCorp moved for issuance of a standard protective order. That motion was granted, and the order will issue today.
