Description
ALJ Grant and ALJ Logan issue ruling in UE 118 & UE 119:
DISPOSITION: PROCEDURAL SCHEDULES SUSPENDED
On January 5, 2001, Portland General Electric Company, PacifiCorp, Citizens' Utility Board, Industrial Customers of Northwest Utilities, PG&E National Energy Group, Associated Oregon Industries and the Fred Meyer Stores filed a joint petition. The petition seeks the immediate adoption of a temporary rule amending the date by which the Commission must make its decision regarding resource plans (OAR 860-038-0080(4)), the opening of a rulemaking docket to make the amended rule permanent, and the suspension of the procedural schedules in UE 118 and UE 119.
The Commission must decide whether to adopt a temporary rule and whether to open a rulemaking docket. Therefore, that portion of the petition will be discussed at the next regularly scheduled Commission meeting on January 23, 2001. The procedural schedules in UE 118 and 119 are suspended until further notice.

MOTION PRO HAC VICE GRANTED
Following the prehearing conference in this matter, the Commission has received additional petitions to intervene from the following: PG&E National Energy Group, PPL Montana, League of Oregon Cities, City of Glendale, Fred Meyer Stores, and Portland Metropolitan Association of Building Managers.
No party has filed an objection to any of these petitions. After review, I find that all petitioners have sufficient interest in the proceeding and that the petitioners' appearance and participation will not unreasonably broaden the issues, burden the record, or unreasonably delay the proceeding. Accordingly, all petitions are granted. See OAR 860-013-0021.
Fred Meyer Stores also filed a Motion Pro Hac Vice to permit Michael Kurtz to appear and participate as co-counsel. That motion is also granted.
