DISPOSITION: DATE FOR ACCEPTING ORDERS EXTENDED
On July 7, 1998, the Commission issued Order No. 98-268, approving a memorandum of understanding between Staff and U S WEST Communications, Inc., (USWC) regarding USWC's Asynchonous Digital Subscriber Line (ADSL) service. The order required that the earliest that USWC could accept orders for MegaSubscriber service is August 19, 1998. The date was changed to August 20, 1998, in Order No. 98-340. In Order No. 98-342, the Commission extended the date to September 2, 1998. In Order No. 98-362, the Commission extended the date to September 16, 1998.
At its public meeting on September 15, 1998, the Commission authorized USWC to begin accepting orders on September 28, 1998. However, the Commission also reserved the right to suspend USWC from accepting any additional MegaSubscriber orders or from provisioning any such orders already received. Such an action would take place at the Commission's October 6, 1998, public meeting.

A party may request rehearing or reconsideration of this order pursuant to ORS 756.561. A request for rehearing or reconsideration must be filed with the Commission within 60 days of the date of service of this order. The request must comply with the requirements of OAR 860-014-0095. A copy of any such request must also be served on each party to the proceeding as provided by OAR 860-013-0070. A party may appeal this order to a court pursuant to ORS 756.580.
