ORDER

DISPOSITION: APPLICATION DISMISSED

On October 18, 1996, U S WEST Communications, Inc., (USWC) filed an application for an order transferring rights to exclusively served territory. The application involved the proposed transfer by USWC of part of its Sumpter exchange to Pine Telephone Systems.

In December 1996, Pine Telephone Systems decided it did not want the territory and informed USWC of its decision. On January 3, 1997, USWC filed a petition to withdraw the application.

The Commission concludes that there is no reason for further consideration of this matter and that the application should be dismissed.

ORDER

IT IS ORDERED that the application by USWC for transfer of allocated territory to Pine Telephone Systems is dismissed and the docket closed.
