In the Matter of the Application of NORTHWEST NATURAL GAS COMPANY for Authority to Engage in Affiliated Interest Transactions with Oregon Natural Gas Development Company. )

) PROTECTIVE ORDER

)

)

On February 21, 1996, Northwest Natural Gas Company (NNG) filed a motion for a Protective Order. NNG asserts that the Commission Staff (Staff) has requested certain information and documents relevant to the price at which Oregon Natural Gas Development Company (ONGDC) acquired certain storage and other property rights in the Mist natural gas fields. NNG contends that such material contains confidential and proprietary information. NNG states that the release of such confidential information could impair NNG's or ONGDC's commercial interests or would otherwise adversely impact the company's ability to competitively procure or market natural gas storage.

Based on the infomation contained in NNG's motion, I find that good cause exists to issue a standard protective order in this proceeding. See OAR 860-12-035(1)(k). This protective order and the information protected by it is subject to all the provisions set forth in Appendix A. Parties agreeing to be bound by the terms of the protective order shall sign the signatory page of Appendix A.

ORDER

IT IS ORDERED that the Standard Protective Order, attached as Appendix A, shall govern the disclosure of confidential information in this case.

Made, entered, and effective ______________________, pursuant to OAR
