DISPOSITION: RATE SCHEDULES SUSPENDED

 

On August 16, 1995, U S WEST Communications, Inc. (U S WEST) filed Advice No. 1613 to be effective October 18, 1995. On December 13, 1995, the company revised the effective date to December 20, 1995. The terms of the proposed schedules are set forth in the Staff Report dated December 13, 1995, attached as the Appendix to this order.

 

At its December 19, 1995, public meeting, the majority of the Public Utility Commission of Oregon found good and sufficient cause exists to investigate the propriety and reasonableness of the rates pursuant to ORS 757.210 and 757.215. The majority of the Commission ordered suspension of the advice pending that investigation.

 

ORDER

 

IT IS ORDERED that Advice No. 1613 filed by U S WEST Communications, Inc., is suspended for a period of time not to exceed six months from December 20, 1995, the effective date of the rate schedules.
