| 7/14/2025 6:40:08 PM | General Comment | N | R | I have used the dedicated support line in the past after it was initially setup. More recently I have found that the dedicated support line does not work. Instead it seems to direct to the main century link number. Initially when the dedicated support line was working, it was great. I reached a support representative much faster and the process of receiving support and getting our phone line back up and running was much faster. Now that the dedicated support line is no longer working, reaching support is slower and far more tedius. Note: please redact my email address |
| 9/18/2025 12:33:38 AM | General Comment | Dear Oregon Public Utility Commission, As a CenturyLink customer, I strongly urge regulators to hold CenturyLink accountable for providing safe and reliable services to all Oregon customers. I am submitting my comments for docket UM 1908 and related dockets. Despite orders to rectify CenturyLink's faulty service, Oregon customers continue to experience chronic service and safety issues, including dropped calls, service outages, poor customer service, and unreliable landline service. These problems are part of a bigger pattern. Washington state regulators have already fined CenturyLink $15.5 million, one of the largest penalties ever recommended by state regulators, for violating state law. CenturyLink has failed on its promise to provide reliable service to Oregon customers and must be held accountable. I strongly urge regulators to enforce fines of up to $50,000 per day per violation when CenturyLink is not in compliance with the customer protections outlined in its Commission Orders and to withhold any rate increase until service is reliable for all Oregon customers. No one should have to go without reliable telephone service, but Oregon communities are being told to do just that. In a medical emergency or during a fire, reliable phone service can mean the difference between life and death. CenturyLink must be held accountable for failing to protect customers and be brought into compliance. I urge you to hold CenturyLink accountable for providing quality telephone and internet services for Oregon customers. Sincerely, Matthew Gray Corvallis, OR 97330 tomattsiphone@gmail.com | ||

My emails are not always timely downloaded to my computer and smart phone, and some are placed in "spam" and never downloaded. When I know I haven't received an email, I have to go into the Centurylink website where I usually find it in he "spam" folder, then I have to manually select and download it! Centurylink offered a higher level of email service for a fee some time ago, but I was not willing to pay more when their basic service didn't work very well! I urge you to hold CenturyLink accountable for providing quality telephone and internet services for Oregon customers. Sincerely, Beth Bown Portland, OR 97267 bethbown@centurylink.net
| 9/18/2025 12:33:50 AM | General Comment | Dear Oregon Public Utility Commission, As a CenturyLink customer, I strongly urge regulators to hold CenturyLink accountable for providing safe and reliable services to all Oregon customers. I am submitting my comments for docket UM 1908 and related dockets. I have a Centurylink landline. The connection in the junction box goes out a few times a year. I have been told by repair people that rain and a rapid change in temperature break the needed connection. They put in a new part, all's well again. Sometimes the internet still works and I can email in a service call. Sometimes I take my iPad into the local library to contact them. I do not have a cell phone. Century link always sends out a repair person within a week or so. I think there are only 3 repair people in my area. They work very long hours as far as I can tell. I have absolutely no complaint about them. I am happy to have the century link service. I urge you to hold CenturyLink accountable for providing quality telephone and internet services for Oregon customers. Sincerely, Karol Strane Rogue River, OR 97537 krisstrane@yahoo.com | ||

I am submitting my comments for docket UM 1908 and related dockets. Poor customer service?! Are you kidding? It's soooo far below 'poor'. Century Link has taught ALL of it's phone reps (all in the Philippines) to verbally steer you to REPAIR, each and every call, no matter what. And that after and if you get through its AI in your attempt to speak to a human at all. Outages of service, no backup for when Pacific Power goes down, totally missing batteries in CL's backup station in Merlin, two days and more of no internet during EXTREME DANGER fire season, no email, no way to contact my cancer doctor when the CL telephones are out at the same time. I'm old. I don't have a stinking "smart" phone, and I do everything by mail. So should you commissioners join CL, and the VA who gave me this Stage 4 pending death in further making senior veterans lives even worse than society and the moronic traitor in the White House is doing? Please say NO. These problems are part of a bigger pattern. Sincerely, Sandra Joos Portland, OR 97239 joosgalefamily@comcast.net

| 9/18/2025 12:35:32 AM | General Comment | Dear Oregon Public Utility Commission, As a CenturyLink customer, I strongly urge regulators to hold CenturyLink accountable for providing safe and reliable services to all Oregon customers. I am submitting my comments for docket UM 1908 and related dockets. I worked for many iterations of this company for many years. Now is the time to hold CenturyLink accountable because when AT&T buys Lumen/CenturyLink and sells off all the higher revenue assets to an equity firm, the rural areas will suffer even worse service losses and costs. The PUC needs to act fast and decisively. Sincerely, Michael Martin Portland, OR 97203 mikeyx3@comcast.net | ||

I am submitting my comments for docket UM 1908 and related dockets. One of the worst things CenturyLink does is migrate every single phone call to REPAIR, which then attempts to get, or pretend to get a technician to your home, NO MATTER WHAT YOU SAY. Also, every single phone rep, likely 100% in the Philippines, has a script that will ABSOLUTELY NOT HELP YOU IN ANY FREAKING WAY WHAT-SO-EVER. Plus, despite orders to rectify CenturyLink's faulty service, Oregon customers continue to experience chronic service and safety issues, including dropped calls, service outages, poor customer service, and unreliable landline service. | 9/18/2025 12:36:32 AM | General Comment | Dear Oregon Public Utility Commission, As a CenturyLink customer, I strongly urge regulators to hold CenturyLink accountable for providing safe and reliable services to all Oregon customers. I am submitting my comments for docket UM 1908 and related dockets. I have NEVER worked with a company with worse service. When our internet or phone goes out which is often, trying to get help is impossible. When both services are out my wifi is then down. Because of our location I have to use wifi for my cell phone. Therefore, I have no communication to the outside. Keep in mind that I am located 4.5 miles NW of North Plains and only 3 miles from Hwy 26. There have been days that I’ve kept track of time spent on the phone with them by standing outside in a specific location to get cell service totaling 6 hours. All there customer service is automated or speaking with folks in another country reading scripts. I have been told by them many times that obviously our service is working because they can’t see a problem. I run a horse boarding facility and phone service is critical to be able to call emergency services for the animals in my care. Let alone for folks here on the facility. I use excel to create invoices for billing and then email bills. More than once I’ve have to take a photo of a bill on my computer screen and then drive to town where I can get cell service and text bills to clients. Our area still runs on DSL and we get only 7 mg of data when everything is up and running. These days that is the equivalent of a dialup motem. Everything here is extremely slow and often one can’t send photos or anything with garage data. I use online quick books for my business accounting and that can be a challenge as well. This summer the Columbia River Girl Scout counsel paid hundreds of thousands of dollars to run fiber optic from Dairy Creek road(which by the way is just buried under ground not hooked up to any one) up Yebel to connect to the camp. This way done by a private contractor with the blessing of century link. The contractor installed a hub to connect others on our road. The efficient thing to do would have been to get us all connected but no. Now when asked they say they are ready and will let us know when it becomes available. In the meantime the bill just keeps going up and service goes down. That you for looking at this company’s practices. Finally someone is listening. In a medical emergency or during a fire, reliable phone service can mean the difference between life and death. CenturyLink must be held accountable for failing to protect customers and be brought into compliance. I urge you to hold CenturyLink accountable for providing quality telephone and internet services for Oregon customers. Despite orders to rectify CenturyLink's faulty service, Oregon customers continue to experience chronic service and safety issues, including dropped calls, service outages, poor customer service, and unreliable landline service. Poor service is not just in the Jacksonville, OR area. I live in a rural area near Ashland, OR, and most of my neighbors have dropped their Century Link land line service due to the poor service. There is a small Century Link equipment area several miles from my home surrounded by a high chain link fence. It once had a locked gate to prevent theft and damage to the equipment within. The gate is missing now for several months. Clearly, Century Link does not care about this equipment. It is my understanding that Century Link receives hefty subsidies from Oregon as the Carrier of Last Resort. It is time for Century Link to fulfill their obligations. These issues have had the most impact in Jacksonville, Oregon, where chronic landline outages have put Oregonians' health and safety at risk during wildfires. We're done with broken promises. It's time to hold CenturyLink accountable. Regulators at the Public Utility Commission are currently reviewing a request from CenturyLink to increase customers' bills. We think it's unacceptable for CenturyLink to increase your bill when they can't even provide reliable service to customers. No more political shenanigans and grandstanding! | 10/24/2025 12:35:55 AM | General Comment | Dear Oregon Public Utility Commission, As a CenturyLink customer, I strongly urge regulators to hold CenturyLink accountable for providing safe and reliable services to all Oregon customers. I am submitting my comments for dockets UM 1908, UM 2397, and related dockets. I received a letter from Cenyurylink mailed 10-08-2025, informing me that they will end my service (for internet on “Two Wire”) on November 17, 2025 due to their inability to maintain the lines. I live in Prospect and they refused to bring fiber cables to customers that are on the west side of the highway (north side, for those not on the curve of highway where I am located). They also refused to stop demanding payment for a leased modem, after I bought a modem! My “For A Life Time” contract was broken, my fees increased and I pay $67.00 a month, $10.00 of which is for their illegal charge for leased equipment. Their service has been down up to two weeks at a time. Their own employee told me during one of these ‘down’ times that another employee disconnected my wire at the box across the highway, in order to provide service to someone else down the road! I have had my service cut off and their claim is that my “wires are loose”; this has happened multiple time a year for many years. I filed a complaint to the PUC and the Oregon Justice Department (about Centurylink and Pacific Power as well many other issues concerning harassment, tampering with communications...etc). Both complaints have been summarily ignored by these two entities. Centurylink used the existing infrastructure owned by Americans to collect high service fees in this rural area (higher in rural areas with the claim of maintaining and upgrading expenses) and have refused to properly maintain and or upgrade the existing infrastructure. Many of these corporations were granted billions of dollars for upgrades by the Federal Government, but apparently, never used those funds for any purpose to upgrade infrastructure for rural Americans. Now, I am told, after years of wasted hours, days, weeks and expense of my time, stress and duress, that they are simply ending their service for me (and others I assume)! Despite orders to rectify CenturyLink's faulty service, Oregon customers continue to experience chronic service and safety issues, including dropped calls, service outages, poor customer service, and unreliable landline service. These problems are part of a bigger pattern. I am also sick and tired of massive amounts of money being paid out to law firms for class action suits that provide massive income to these law firms and leave the victims of these violation with a pity payment that in no way compensates for the continual stress, duress, intimidation and outright criminal billing activities, not to mention the horrific customer service that is nearly nonexistent. CenturyLink has failed on its promise to provide reliable service to Oregon customers and must be held accountable. I demand that every customer receive massive amounts of money in compensation for these vile violations. I urge you to hold CenturyLink accountable for providing quality telephone and internet services for Oregon customers. Sincerely, vicki carlson Prospect, OR 97536 viclycar1111@gmail.com |
