PCN 8-1 5/12/2025 1:20:13 PM PUC General Comment Web Bill Smith MEDFORD I live on Foothill Road. PP&L has approached me about an easement covering 6.75 acres of my land. The easement will allow for 4 "H" poles on our land with 230 kilovolts transmission lines. My first concern is that they do not want to get an appraisal for the easement. My second concern is that they could bury the lines instead of "H" poles. The H poles are set 12' apart, which takes up a lot of area that I'm farming. It's difficult to work around the 100' poles, and the static electricity causes me to get shocked when I open the gates. Also, we may not be able to use the home sites established because of the location of the poles and the power lines overhead. How do we convince the power company to bury the lines? Take care, Bill
PCN 8-2 6/26/2025 1:57:41 PM PACIFIC POWER Oppose Docket Web John Webb CENTRAL POINT Letter entered by Consumer Services staff 6.26.25 dr Jan. 7 2025 Public Utility commission 201High Street Suite 100 Salem, OR 97301 To whom it may concern, This letter is in response to Pacific Power Docket #PCN 8 Pacific Power's notice of intent to file petition For Certificate of public convenience and necessity. The notice of intent is premature considering we have had 2 on site visits from Pacific Power representatives regarding easement and routing issues. The first visit by Dave Schober, he acknowledged that there is an issue in routing of the easement and power lines, he suggested further investigation and a visit from a Pacific Power engineer was appropriate. The second visit was from John Aniello project manager and an engineer, it was again determined by the engineer there is an issue. There was some discussion concerning altering the equipment configuration, however no solutions were developed at this time. Pacific Power representatives decided to develop a plan and return to us with their updated plan, as of the date of this letter we have not heard back from them. In summary: without the revised information from Pacific Power it's impossible To move forward on this Docket #PCN 8 issue. If you have any questions please feel free to contact us. /s/ John & Lynn Webb 6716 Foothill Rd Central Point, OR 97502 541 941-3172
