LC 80-3 | 10/15/2024 12:31:16 AM | 10/13/2024 3:52:09 PM | General Comment | livingwell20@gmail.com | Natural Gas prohibition is ridiculous. I cannot stand this city nor this state, fools of the nation/world. I must live by your foolishness, so please read my opinion of your low intellect. 1.) Cutting down trees, for hanging power lines, which are biggest consumers of carbon dioxide, creating oxygen as output. Is there a tree trunk every 200 ft? You call this environmentally conscious? 2.) Natural gas saved my life this past winter. Electricty about killed my son, my cat and me. It was a horrible 10 days. 3.) PGE makes excuses they don't have to provide electricity during 'major weather incidents'. Well, natural gas is available 24/7, never an outage. 4.) In house toilet water frozen. Excrement went in garbage. Isn't there a reason for sewage treatment? Same as letting homeless people excrete anywhere. Are we pulled around by the nose again, taken for fools, sewage doesn't really need to be treated? 5.) Why are you not approaching the people satanically hanging on to billions and trillions of dollars and not taking care of this planet? If it is truth electricity is green, which I doubt, why are these horrible satanic people not spending the money to heal this planet? Soros monsters, Gates (a self proclaimed atheist), Oprah, Warren Buffet, Tyler Perry, Saudies, etc. Michael Jordan just bought a jet to fly his wife and himself around the world. If there is such a planet crisis why do all of these people have private jets? Add Tom Curise, John Travolta, etc. Basing my opinion on what actually takes place in life, I cannot believe there is global warming. Idiots are running this country, nothing based on facts because they have no common sense, no brain, no ability to think. Why sit on a butt load on money if there is planetary destruction? What is that going to do for anyone? Who needs a 27,000 sq foot home, 5 mansions, all this property/acreage when others have no shelter, etc? This country is a nonsensical MESS. GET EDUCATED ON FACTS OF WHAT"S GOING ON IN THIS COUNTRY instead of focusing on Trump. He's not the one who has created this mess. 6.) QUIT PUSHING ELECTRICITY. IT CANNOT SUSTAIN LIFE. Infrastructure stinks. And it can easily be destroyed by evil people. It is so exposed. 7.) I am very old and this probably will not affect me but I CARE. 8.) It is a shame you all think you should control who lives and who dies. Little peon me will be one who dies due to lack of electricity, such a horribly run company PGE. You are trying to crush a company that can provide life/warmth to peons, NW Natural. Probably a result of DEI. Switch to MEI and this country will function successfully. Five years of DEI has sunk/greatly weakened this country. 9.) Get the emotional, lying, stupid, idiots out of office/politics. Maybe there is a reason men have had the 'glass ceiling', they are the ones who have common sense. They understand living off emotions is weak/dangerous. STRENGTH is a good thing. I am a white female, who has common sense. 10.) Headline right now: "Crow causes power outage in SE Portland, PGE says." Another 'Major Incident' that electricity is not expected to be provided for? Maybe bury powerlines/cables? Is this thought too common sense for politicans/dei's running companies today? 11.) Have you seen WalletHub has rated Oregon as one of the worst states to live in? We weren't there 5 years ago. 12.) Just found some facts for you since using facts is not comprehended: "Private jets are considered significantly more polluting than commercial airplanes, emitting up to 14 times more carbon dioxide per passenger, with some studies stating a private jet can release two tonnes of CO2 per hour, which is equivalent to several months of an average person's emissions in the European Union; making them one of the most environmentally damaging forms of transportation per person." (copied from liberal Google results) 13.) Based on item 12 when will this state expect the private jet owners to pay 12B for cleanup? 14.) Another (liberal, so biased to make private jets more appealing) Google search results (private jet vs natural gas pollution emission): "A private jet emits significantly more pollution per passenger than natural gas, with a single private jet often producing as much carbon dioxide in an hour as an average person does in several months, making private jet travel considerably more environmentally damaging than using natural gas for heating or cooking." When will hippie liberal, progressive, idiotic portland and oregon come to their senses. I've lived here all my life and never realized the stupidity of this city/state. | |||||
LC 80-4 | 5/28/2025 9:08:56 AM | PORTLAND GENERAL ELECTRIC | General Comment | Web | Neel | Patel | PORTLAND | Dear Commissioners Perkins and Taney. My name is Neel Patel a constituent in Portland, OR (97202), As a physician and community member, I am concerned about the multiple effects of climate change on my patients and all Oregonians. My wife and I recently bought a house in SE portland and I am a paying costumer or PGE and NW natural. I moved to Oregon from Utah where I grew up for training as a radiologist, but one of the reasons I've stayed is the promise my new leaders make about decarbonization. However, as OPB and Probulica reports, Oregon is not a leader in renewable energy and the lack of transmission lines is one of the main issues: https://www.opb.org/article/2025/05/17/renewable-energy-oregon-washington-wind-solar/ We are 47th in the nation for bringing new renewable energy onto the grid. Texas and Iowa have been more of a leader in renewables! We must be better. I am writing to express my support for building transmission lines along highways, and ask that you please consider introducing or supporting such legislation in the future. Wisconsin has been doing so successfully for decades (2003 Act 89), and I’d like to see our state follow in their footsteps. Here are some helpful resources to serve as a roadmap: https://www.climatechangemakers.org/policymaker-resources-transmission-along-highways This is a clear win for our state. As OPB and probublica reported, transmission lines are essential for electrification. Without it we face the risk of blackouts and not enough supply and relying on dirty and unsustainable fossil fuels to run our economy. It's clear that the recent controversy about expanding transmission lines in Forest park shows that expanding energy infrastructure, even good and necessary infrastructure can get caught in the weeds. I am disappointed that the Portland City Council rejected a plan that would help ramp up transmission capacity. It is short sighted in my point of view. Furthermore, in 2025 leadership in our state NEEDS to show that we can build infrastructure and get things done. If Texas and Iowa are better at building renewables than Oregon and Washington, our promises will have no weight and will not convince voters that we can do important work. The complaints from the right that regulation is stifling progress has some element of truth to it. We need to show that democrats get things done if we have any hope of turning the tide away from the MAGA wing back to common sense. Building transmission lines along highways avoids many of the contentious issues seen in Portland, avoids having to build all new infrastructure and will help unlock our clean energy potential. Thank you. |
